My Personal Experience – 10 Easy Healthy Breakfast Ideas
1. Protein Cereal Mix
For lazy and rushed mornings, I usually go for my simple protein cereal mix as it can be prepared quickly without thinking too much about it! On average, it takes less than 5 minutes to prepare a bowl of cereal. To prepare, you can grab any of your favourite healthy cereal and pour your preferred milk option. But I highly recommend going for cereal which provides ample protein.
To be honest, I prefer my regular full-cream milk as it tastes the best to me. I don’t really like almond milk as it doesn’t sit well with my stomach and taste buds. However, do consider going for almond milk as it’s a healthier alternative!
2. Overnight Oats
Another staple breakfast idea I usually go for is overnight oats. For this, it needs to be prepared the night before. But don’t worry – it’s super easy to prepare too! All you have to do is mix your rolled oats together with your preferred milk. You can also add ginger powder and bananas or other fruits into the mix for more flavour.
I prefer to add various toppings such as plant-based protein powder or Greek yoghurt to my overnight oats as well. It depends on mood, really. The next morning, you just need to take it out from the fridge and eat it straight away.
3. Smoothies or Protein Shakes
This breakfast idea is suitable while on the go as it can be carried around while getting to and fro places. Smoothies or protein shakes can be easily prepared using a blender or shaker.
For smoothies, mix together your preferred fruits such as bananas or strawberries and add toppings such as monk fruit sweeteners or protein powder.
For the protein shakes, usually, I’ll just add in my protein powder and mix together with milk. But if it’s too plain for you, consider mixing your protein shakes with vanilla extract or allulose.
4. Yoghurt Parfaits
Are you a fan of yoghurt? Making a yoghurt parfait is an easy breakfast idea too instead of eating it on its own! Yoghurt provides not just protein, but also other nutrients such as calcium and vitamin B. To make a yoghurt parfait, grab a jar of your choice and start making the layers.
The bottom layer has to be the yoghurt. Then, the next layer would be adding the fruits and granola. The common fruits to use would be strawberries and goji berries. But don’t worry, if it’s your first time eating it, it’s easy to find goji berries in Singapore! The last top layer will be another layer of yoghurt. If you wish to make it more sweet, you can add monk fruit sweetener or a drizzle of honey, which are usually my go-to.
5. Protein Pancakes
Protein Pancakes is also a great breakfast idea as it’s both filling and nutritious, providing sufficient protein for the day. You can mix together your usual protein powder, flour, and baking powder for the batter. I usually add bananas into my batter mix as well for extra flavour besides using them as toppings after cooking. I’ll drizzle maple syrup or honey after.
6. Vegetables Omelette
Vegetables Omelette is easy to make too for those who prefer egg-based breakfast meals. Mix a few eggs with milk and pour into your pan. Then, add in your preferred vegetables. I would add spinach and mushrooms to my omelette. It’s a perfect nutritional meal as you can get in some protein and vegetables at the start of the morning.
7. Avocado Toast
Prefer just a simple toast in the mornings? An avocado toast would be a good idea! Avocado is packed with healthy fats, so you can be energized the entire day with this nutritious breakfast. Don’t forget to mix the avocado spread with pepper and salt for extra taste. Occasionally, I’ll add a poached egg to spice things up instead of just eating it plain.
8. Breakfast Muffin
I also regularly make muffins for my breakfast! It’s fun to bake over the weekend or weekday nights as they can be kept in the fridge for a few days. During the mornings, I can just reheat them in the microwave or oven. So if you love muffins for breakfast, consider giving it a try, especially since you can also eat it while on the go!
9. Breakfast Burritos or Wraps
Consider having a breakfast burrito or wraps if you prefer something a little more different than usual. Cook some scrambled eggs and mix with tomatoes and spinach. Then, take your preferred wrap, though I prefer a wholemeal wrap, and wrap them together.
10. Chicken Salad
I know it can be uncommon to have salads for breakfast, but it’s actually one of the healthiest breakfast meals! Not only do you get to have protein, but also some greens to kickstart your day. Add your preferred salad dressing to make it even more appetizing. It’s also a great breakfast meal if you’ve worked out the night before.
Conclusion
To conclude, there are many ways to get a healthy breakfast meal without complicated cooking steps. With these easy ideas, you’ll start to notice your body becoming more fit and overall feeling much healthier too.
