Types of Massages/Spa
- Thai Massage
Thai massage focuses on reducing stress and improving flexibility through rhythmic compression of muscles, joint movement, and the use of acupressure. It is a type of massage that is frequently used to alleviate back pain, balance issues, and may even be an effective migraine treatment.
- Swedish Massage
Swedish massage chairs offer light-to-moderate pressure and are great for people new to massage or wishing to remove stress from the body. They are known for soft, long kneading strokes coupled with shorter, rhythmic tapping strokes.
- Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massages work out the body by using slow, firm, more powerful strokes or friction. These massages are suitable for people who have muscle discomfort or injury, muscle imbalance, tightness throughout the body, or chronic muscle pain.
- Hot Stone Massage
Hot stone massage is unique to the others. The massage therapist lays hot stones on your body and frequently utilises them to massage you. The effect enables the therapist to work deeper while applying less pressure.
- Shiatsu Massage
Shiatsu massage is a centuries-old Japanese method that literally translates to “finger pressure massage.” Shiatsu massage aims to relieve pain and release muscles by applying pressure to certain spots on the body.
- Reiki Massage
Reiki does not entail dealing with tissue. Spa therapists instead place their hands softly above or on your body to convey warmth and energy.
- Sports Massage
A sports massage will have faster strokes than a typical Swedish massage. Compression, pressure point therapy, friction, and joint movement may also be used to target all of the necessary muscle groups.
- Reflexology
Reflexology applies light to hard pressure to pressure points on the feet and hands that are considered to correspond to different parts of the body.
- Lymphatic Drainage Massage
Lymphatic drainage massage is a massage technique that encourages lymph movement throughout the body. Long strokes are used in this massage technique to circulate lymph fluid so that organs may process and filter it out of the body. The rhythmic hand strokes stimulate a sluggish lymphatic system and can help the body create a robust immune system.
- Aromatherapy Massage
Aromatherapy massage incorporates the use of essential oils into the massage session. Combining these two factors promotes relaxation and may excite or energise you, depending on the scents used by your massage therapist. Many therapists will initially speak with you to learn what types of essential oils you prefer.
