1. City Vacations
Vacations almost always mean going away to the tropics or beaches but what if you can have a vacation in the city itself? Kuala Lumpur is so familiar to us but have we really explored it? How does a child see it? Well, here’s your chance to create memories with your family too.
Get on the KL Hop & Off and play tourists in the city itself. Visit the many museums in KL such as the National Museum, Islamic Arts Museum, Museums of Illusions and more and learn, explore and have fun together.
Visit KLCC – the Petronas Twin Towers and Aquaria to see the world in a different view – from the clouds and underwater. Who knew that the city itself can be one of the best places for family vacations in Malaysia?
2. Let’s Go To The Beach
Vacations mean getting some vitamin sea and some fun in the Sun for the whole family. Lucky for you, Malaysia has no shortage of incredible beaches to visit.
If a trip to the east is what you fancy, you may want to pack up the family and head to Tanjung Aru beach in Kota Kinabalu. It boasts to have one of the most beautiful sunsets that would be great for the ‘gram and to enjoy with the family. Head over to Mabul Island to observe a biodiverse marine life that would surely be the topic for days whether you choose to dive or snorkel.
Head over to Rawa Island in Johor for some private time with your family and bond over beautiful sceneries. If you would like to visit the North-East, head over to the Perhentian Islands which are split into Perhentian Besar and Perhentian Kecil. Snorkel, dive, island hop, observe turtles or relax with a book at one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
3. Farm in The City
Living in the city may take away the carefree childhood days of playing with your friends until dusk and having nature and animals around (other than your domestic pets). Well, why not relive those days and have animals jump out of their Animals 101 books? Farm in The City is set to resemble a “kampung” setting. Not only will you get to be around the different animals, you will get to safely interact with them.
4. Time To Make A Splash
If you feel like you can’t pull your kids away from water, why not let them play in it? Make your way to Sunway Lagoon. With a variety of parks to visit, it is a water world all on its own. Have fun at the Water Park, Wildlife Park, Extreme Park, Amusement Park, Scream Park & Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon. After a full day of splashing fun, rest your head at one of the hotels Sunway offers or camp out with the kids for a continued adventure.
Another water funland from Sunway that you may want to explore is the Lost World of Tambun in Ipoh. Not only do they have a water park for a quick splash, you and your family can learn about the history of tin mining at their tin valley, interact with wildlife at their petting zoo and observe tigers at the tiger valley. Let your hair down and have fun at their amusement park and challenge yourself and your family at their adventure park.
5. Feeling Fresh
Sometimes we just want to escape from the concrete city and breathe fresh air. Pack your bags and get to Cameron Highlands for a sea of greens within your sight. Recharge and have some tea and scones – preferably with strawberries on the side. Feast your eyes to beautiful floras and pose for some great photos at the Flora Park. This is definitely one of the best places for family vacations in Malaysia.
If you and your kids love milk, visit Farm Fresh at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). Take an educational tour and learn how their milks are made. Visit the “ladies” that produce them and see how they are carefully cared for, learn how milk is collected and the process of pasteurisation and how they are kept fresh. Explore the farm, meet the residents at the petting zoo and enjoy nutritious farm-to-table meals.
6. Let Your Inner Child Out
Being an adult can be exhausting and kids may find it such an alien concept – making them feel that you can’t relate to them. Let your inner child out and join your kids for some exhilarating time. Show your kids that you can have fun at Genting Highlands. This fun-filled amusement park has something for everyone.
If you and your child have an active imagination, step inside LEGOLAND® in Johor. It is just as it sounds – a land of Legos. From its LEGOLAND® Park, LEGOLAND® Water Park, Aquarium and more, the fun stops only when your imagination runs out.
